I saw this game at Direct 2 Drive for $7 (75% off sale), so I bought it without knowing anything more than that it was a space game. Was a pretty good deal. The game is sort of like X3, or an offline EVE, except controlled like a RTS and with more RPG elements. It's like a space sandbox game, where you start with a basic trading vessel, and from there can go wherever you want. Pirate, trader, mercenary, whatever, you can do it. There's also a main story to follow (though I think it's optional), which leads you around the galaxy doing quests and talking to characters. Most situations that are presented to you come with options, sort of like a Bioware game. You can also recruit party members. I'm not really sure how that works yet, I haven't gotten any, but it looks like you can have 5 pilots with you at once.
The world is also really detailed. I've played for only a couple hours, but at least half that time was spent reading backstory and such.
Easily worth $7. Though I could have probably pirated it. But I mean $7, worth it alone for the guaranteed fast download speed from D2D I guess. Impulse buy anyway. |
